Chicken teriyaki

We went out for lunch last week and I thought I had chosen sensibly when I ordered Chicken Teriyaki (which I love).

When we got home I used my Weightwatchers app to track what I had eaten and was shocked that it was so highly pointed. One meal had used all my daily allowance. After a bit of an online search I found that meal was around 1000 calories šŸ˜²

So I made it my mission to recreate at home using fewer calories but still needing to make it simple and quick.

This comes in at approx 700 calories if served with egg noodles or 500 if served with brown rice.

This recipe serves 4 and takes around 30 mins.



4 chicken breasts

2tbsp soy sauce

2tbsp honey

2tbsp sesame oil

Ginger (thumb size, grated)

2 cloves of garlicĀ  (grated)


How to cook:

In a bowl mix the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic and ginger together, give it a good whisk.

Slice the chicken breast and marinade in the sauce for 15 mins. (If you have longer, leave for longer)

When ready, stir fry in oil/frylight until chicken is cooked through.

Serve with either noodles or rice and stir fried vegetables.
